GEN AY 2.1 //

Generative Artificial You (GEN AY) is a human-AI collaboration that explores how technology can augment the creative process, challenging the notion of AI as a threat to human creativity. With significant freedom granted to AI, the work initially takes shape in the digital realm. Patterns are generated virtually, then transition into the physical world through the 3D printing of recycled plastic waste. Once fully materialised, the frames are hand-painted. This multidisciplinary approach prompts a dialogue between human and machine creativity and its possibilities for generative design.

While AI may seem distinct from us it is trained on human-made data, acting as a virtual reflection of ourselves. The viewer is invited to contemplate this relationship while observing their own reflection, framed within AI’s abstract representation of this data.
